Kathryn Anthony Optometry enlisted the services of Hartwood Timber and graphic designer Philip Field to revamp their storefront with three bespoke painted signs. The goal was clear: design durable signs compliant with Bath Council’s stringent regulations.
Hartwood Timber, known for traditional craftsmanship, opted for Iroko timber frames—a weather-resistant choice—to withstand external exposure.
Tricoya panels, selected for their durability, fortified the signs against the elements. This practical approach reflected Hartwood Timber’s commitment to creating structures that would endure the test of time. The signs, painted with colours matched to the showroom’s design, fused functionality with aesthetics.
The hanging sign and two exterior affixations demonstrated a nuanced understanding of spatial constraints and planning regulations.
