Supporting Outdoor Learning with Sustainable Timber Signage
At Hartwood Timber, we’re passionate about sustainability, craftsmanship, and community — so we were thrilled to support our local children’s school by designing and producing custom timber signage for their evolving outdoor learning spaces.
This well-received donation provided the perfect finishing touch to the school’s natural outdoor environment, helping to make learning outside even more inspiring.
Thoughtfully Designed, Sustainably Made
Each sign was crafted using FSC-registered Iroko, a durable, responsibly sourced hardwood known for its longevity and beautiful grain. As with all of our projects, sustainability was central — from the materials to the finishing touches.
The signs feature:
- Engraved and hand-painted lettering for clarity and durability
- A Rubio Monocoat WoodCream finish, which is VOC-free and enhances the rich tones and natural grain of the timber
- Clear engaging designs suited for a natural child-centred environment
Providing a lasting impact, these signs are more than decorative elements, but support wayfinding and create a welcoming atmosphere in the outdoor learning zones, whilst celebrating the evolving design of the school’s outdoors spaces.
We’re proud that our work could contribute to a project that not only aligns with our values but also directly benefits the children and staff of our local school.
